'Tis the season – the season of holiday travel complaints, that is.

Travelers didn't hold back on Twitter on Christmas Eve, detailing everything from minor travel annoyances to delayed and canceled flights.

One Twitter user griped about spending Christmas Eve in the airport due to delays.

User @SaraByTheLake called out United for a five-hour delay, writing: "This is not how I wanted to spend my Christmas Eve."

Another traveler took aim at Southwest for delays on a flight from Baltimore to Phoenix.

One traveler complained of a missing bag situation from Dallas to San Antonio, Texas. "@AmericanAir MULTIPLE BAGS MISPLACED or NOT PUT ON FLIGHT!!... This is unacceptable," the traveler lamented.

Some travelers, meanwhile, were just surveying the madness.

"Flying on Christmas Eve = new unique hell," one user tweeted.

Another commented: "Nothing shows defeat more than the face of parents flying with three kids at 6:30 a.m. on Christmas Eve."

One user waiting for a flight to Omaha wanted people to remember the spirit of the holiday, saying, "there are some very unjolly people here that have yelled at airport employees. Be kind to one another this holiday and always after that."

Other travelers recounted an overall more pleasant experience.

One person had a speedy 31-minute ecurity check.

Several others enjoyed some extra space. One flight reportedly had "only 55 passengers" out of 144.

And others were just happy to feel the festive spirit as they traveled. One user celebrated spotting a dog in a Christmas sweater.
