One afternoon around midnight in the summer of 1960, in a generally quiet area of California, two patrol police officers would be witnesses. to a very likely out of this world encounter. Or was the United States Army involved in the cover-up of the incident, as is the accusation of so many other similar sightings?

Just before midnight on the 13thth In August 1960, officers from the California Highway Patrol, Charles Carson and Stanley Scott, crossed along Hoag Road, near the city of Corning, when A sudden light came out of the night sky.. His immediate reaction was that a plane was about to crash into the ground. They stopped their patrol vehicle and got out of the car to be able to locate and alert the emergency crews to the crash site.
However, as the scene unfolds before them, it became clear that it was not a plane crashing to the ground. Both floated, sweeping their red rays through the heavens and toward the ground. They would stop their vehicle again and monitor the procedures.
They would continue to watch until these two mysterious ships moved away once more to the east, this time disappearing on the horizon. It was now after 2 am. Upon returning to their base in the Tehama County sheriff's office, they would know that two other officers, as well as the night duty jailer, also witnessed something strange. Their descriptions coincided with what Carson and Scott witnessed on the lonely California highway.

The next morning, in fact, only a few hours later, Carson and Scott would drive to Red Bluff Air Station. His intention was to add his report to that of the military. Interestingly, and perhaps revealingly, when the NICAP pointed to the planet and the stars involved would be below the horizon at the time of the sighting, the Air Force simply changed the star to Capella. This would also have been impossible. Capella would have risen in the sky and would not have disappeared beneath the horizon as the objects did.
Needless to say, officers Carson and Scott rejected these claims outright. Both officers had ample military background, with Carson serving in the Air Force and Scott serving as a paratrooper in the Korean War. Carson would say that "we are both aware of the tricks of the play of lights in the eyes during the darkness". Both would have this in mind during and after the sighting. Incidentally, when an independent verification of meteorological records was carried out, there was no evidence that a "temperature reversal" could have occurred on the night in question.
Perhaps the several sightings that occurred in the days after the incident are also of interest. What was the sudden apparent interest in this quiet part of California? And whose interest was it?
The Sunnyvale sighting
Whether there is a connection or not, it is open to debate, but a similar nighttime sighting in California took place three years later, on the 26th.th September 1963. The whole incident had lasted about 45 seconds.
Five minutes before the Anderson sighting, at 4:15 am in the nearby town of Monta Vista another sighting occurred. The supervisor of the Permanent Cement Company, George Scott, heard that one of his workers was calling him. When he approached the excited worker, he moved his attention upward. It was then that he saw the bright ship moving up in the sky for about 60 seconds. Another police officer, Lieutenant Haag, also witnessed the same ship just minutes after Anderson.
