"I've gone to glacier climbing expeditions twice around Ruth Gorge in Alaska, that's pretty scary, you have no idea where the cracks might be, these glaciers are like hard ice that has deep cracks, all covered by a layer of fresh snow, you pierce it like a crust, but you never know if it will be drilled to the bottom in an abyss, so at each step you say: "This could be the last!" In both expeditions, I have been the climber less experienced, so they put me in front as "the crack bunny," the guy who finds the cracks I lack the skills to get someone out if they fall in. So I'm the guy who has to fall, because the others have more possibilities to save me. "
Abbi Jacobson
Co-creator of "Broad City" and author of "I Might Lamenta esto", inspired by a solo trip that she made across the US. UU (October 30, Grand Central Publishing)
"A few years ago, I partnered with an airline to organize a comedy in heaven. We would make hour-long comedy games that interact with the passengers of the flights that take off in London. I was about to make my trip on a flight to New York when the pilot told us that the plane had technical difficulties and had to return to Heathrow. We managed to book again on the last flight to New York. After taking off, I started my set. A half hour later, a flight attendant proceeded to shout that I was a terrorist. It turns out that nobody had told anyone on this new plane that all this was part of a campaign with the airline. "
Ruth Ware
Novelist of the crime and author, more recently, of "The Death of Mrs. Westaway".
"One of my first travel memories is of a trip to Brittany in France, I must have been about 5 years old and my sister about 3 years old, and they took us to visit some dolmen, ancient megalithic stone tombs. but this had been partially buried and was unusually large.Once the tour group was down there, the guide turned off the lights, probably by a spooky emotion. My sister and I, both terrified of being unexpectedly submerged in the prehistoric darkness. We grinned and grabbed my father's legs, burying our faces in his stomach. When the lights went on, we had an even greater shock. My father was standing on the other side of the grave and we were grabbing a random Frenchman (pretty funny) ".
