Strange encounters from the forests of Elliot, Maine

We have recently examined a series of sightings along The Tote Road in Maine They are inexplicable half a century later. This strange and mysterious location, however, is far from the only place of interest in this state of northeastern America. The small town of Elliot and the forests that surround it have a lot of strange stories. Two of which would occur within five years of difference in 1977 and 1982 respectively.
Although the sightings are different in terms of the descriptions of the apparent crafts, quite strangely, each encounter presents what could be a ship or object "in transformation" that seems to change its forms. And each one of them would start with a light emerging from the trees of the forest near the houses of the respective witnesses. In fact, perhaps that ancient forest provides the perfect cover for such objects, and their occupants, to move largely undetected in this part of the United States. Not only are the following encounters intriguing, but both remain unexplained. And both add another layer to the always mysterious UFO and the alien question.
A strange art that comes out of the woods, over the trees
At the summer of 1982, the (then) 14-year-old witness known only as "Chris F." He was preparing to move from his family home in Elliot, Maine, to the entire country to Alaska. In fact, all of his possessions were packaged and currently in transit through the United States. The family now only had the essentials for the last days before leaving for their new home thousands of miles away. On this particular night, Chris was lying in his sleeping bag listening to his radio. There were no curtains in the window, so I could see the events that clearly happen in the vicinity of the outside.
It was like I was looking lazily through the unprotected window that a "black geometric object" came into view. Chris would describe it as "zigzagging quickly in the air over the line of forest trees" that crawled to the back of his house. I would estimate that its distance is one and a half times the size of a football field. Also, the way the strange boat moved would make him think of "an aerial hockey puck, with seemingly instantaneous changes of direction."
Although the ship was definitely "zigzagging", it was still moving towards its empty property. All the time he would keep his height about ten feet above the top of the trees. The closer the foreign object approached, the more it resembled "the general shape of a coffin." Chris would go to the window. However, by the time he changed his focus to get a better view, the object was gone. He stayed where he was for several moments, waiting for him to come back. Just when he was going to get away, though, there he was, forty feet away, floating over the backyard.
A black metal object weapon "Like a pyramid leaning on its side!"
Not quite believing in his eyes, or how the presence of the object could have been lost just a second ago, Chris stood still, looking out at this strange and surreal vision. I would remember that the ship was "made of metal" but a metal that was opaque, like the "black metal-gun". I could not see doors or windows. In fact, he could not see any kind of seam or join anywhere outside or around it. However, he noticed several "protuberances" that suggested, for him, that the object "was some kind of machinery".
The object, now that it was so close, that I could see was about the size of a car. It was a rectangular shape, but almost like a "leaning pyramid on its side with the pointed end removed". He was not sure if the object had changed shape now that it was motionless, or if the way it had moved previously had given the impression of a rectangle.
The object was only outside the window for four or five seconds. Then, it is "left in an instant". In fact, so fast was the departure of the object, that Chris would struggle to locate the direction in which he moved. It would go in the opposite direction to the one that arrived.
At this stage, the song that plays on the radio came to an end. The voice of the DJ arrived excited through the aerial waves saying: "I was flooded with calls about some object in the air". Chris would get in touch with the radio station and also add his report to the apparent surge that was coming
No more information (yet?)!
After the meeting, the movement would go ahead as planned. Chris would never discover what the object was. And it was not until more than thirty-five years later, when he recorded his report of the incident. In addition, although the The Cash-Landrum incident included descriptions of a similar pyramid art, that traveled in an upright position instead of "overturning".
Unfortunately, Chris can not remember what radio station he had during the incident, other than that it was a typical popular radio station. Possibly, there could be records of the transmission, or at least the calls received. However, if they exist, their whereabouts are unknown and who has them.
Perhaps it is also worth noting that, despite the proximity of the object, electrical devices will not fail, including the radio that remained in the background. There was also no unusual smell that suggested an engine or fuel of some kind. Similarly, no sound came from the ship, nor was there any other sound that suggested that any other aircraft, conventional or otherwise, could have been in the area. There are, however, several military bases near the location of the sighting. If that last detail is important, for the moment, it is subject to debate.
It was not, however, the first sighting of strange crafts in the Elliot forests.
Telepathic invitations to William Cole
Five years earlier, in Elliot, in 1977, one afternoon in July, shortly after midnight, William Cole was in his room. Although he was awake, his girlfriend slept beside him. I was contemplating waking her up to tell her about the Strange lights I could see moving behind the trees. in the back of his house. He watched the lights a little more, seeing them rise above the treetops in the form of a very defined ship. Then, the "message" appeared in his thoughts. This was the test of the aliens. However, the voice would continue, I was not going to tell anyone. He could, however, awaken his girlfriend and they could get on board the ship.
He woke up his girlfriend telling him to go quickly to the window. She did, and she also saw the large saucer-shaped ship that hovers over the trees. He asked if he could hear something in his head. He concentrated for a second before saying, "He's telling us not to tell anyone and that we can get on the ship."
The couple dressed and quickly began to go down and leave the house. However, when William turned around briefly, his girlfriend came back inside insisting "she had" to wake up her roommate. After telling him not to do it, he hurried out, eager to look closely at this apparent ship from another world. As he progressed, he could see a "yellowish light" coming from inside the cosmic vehicle now landed. The walls inside would boast of tiles, and in the center of a large room there was a "tube full of liquid".
Then, everything changed!
"I remember I went up that ramp!"
Suddenly, instead of rushing towards this vehicle from another part of the galaxy, once again he was at the door of his house. As he ran once more, the ship now rose in the air. While continuing to watch the object open, his girlfriend and his roommate met him in the garden. Then, something even stranger happened.
As the object continued to rise, right before his eyes, he changed shape. In a few seconds, the ship disappeared in the form of a saucer. Instead, a standard US cargo plane was now crossing the skies. Even the sound of their engines was authentic. They continued to watch the "plane" until it disappeared from sight over the trees.
While he was there trying to process what had just happened, William could feel "waves of mental energy trying to block and confuse" his mind. Perhaps this was added to the sound of his girlfriend's roommate, who would insist that the ship was, in fact, "just an airplane." The next morning, William's girlfriend also stated that the experience "was probably in their minds somehow."
William, however, insisted in private that this was not a product of his imagination. Or some collective hallucination. I knew it was real. He would state in his report: "What happened inside that ship, I do not remember, but I remember climbing that ramp."
The 1808 sighting of Cynthia Everett
Although it happened about 200 years earlier, this time in the city of Camden, Maine, it may be worth observing an apparent UFO sighting of 1808. Just to show how long these types of strange aerial sightings have occurred. Cynthia Everett was a school teacher who taught in Camden at the beginning of the 19th century. It seems that she is certainly a credible witness and prone to falsehood.
The following is the entry of the newspaper in question:
"At 10 o'clock I saw a very strange appearance, it was a light that came from the east, I thought it was a meteor, but from its movement I soon realized it was not, it seems that it is launched at the beginning as fast as the light, and it seemed to be in the atmosphere, but it descended to the ground and stayed at the same distance, sometimes ascending and sometimes descending, it moved on the horizon then visible (it was not very light) and then it came back again, we saw it until it became extinct. "
While he does not write anything else about the event, given his above-average level of education (for the time being), including having a reasonable knowledge of the heavens and the stars, that if Everett could have said what it was, or was even likely to be, she would have. Instead, she dismisses what could be a meteor and, in fact, leaves the object unidentified.
