On November 15, a Falcon-9 v1.2 rocket placed a geostationary transfer route to a communications satellite for Qatar. The vehicle took off at 20:46 UTC, from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. As usual, the first stage of the rocket, which was being reused after being used in a previous mission, was again recovered after landing on a barge moved to the Atlantic Ocean.



The satellite sent to space is called Es'hailsat-2. It will be placed in the geostationary position 26 degrees East, from where it will send television signals to the Middle East and North Africa. The vehicle has been built by the Japanese company Mitsubishi Electric on a DS-2000 platform. It weighs 5,300 kg and has repeaters in Ku and Ka bands. In addition, it carries a payload for amateur radio communications, called AMSAT Phase 4A, which will allow links between Brazil and India.
