Launched the GSAT-29 satellite





India launched a geostationary communications satellite called GSAT-29 on November 14. The second GSLV Mk III (D2) rocket took off from the base of Satish Dhawan at 11:38 UTC and placed its cargo in a geostationary transfer orbit.



The GSAT-29 will shortly reach its final position, over the 55 degrees East, and from there it will offer telecommunications and television services to India and nearby regions. The satellite has been built on an I-3K platform by the ISRO agency and will be managed by the company Insat. Weighed 3,423 kg at takeoff. It has repeaters in Ka, Ku, and Q / V bands. It also carries a high resolution camera attached to a telescope to obtain images of the Earth.
