International Moon Observation Night 2018
At the Planetarium of Buenos Aires, October 20 from 7.30 to 10 pm."The International Night of the Observation of the Moon" is an initiative of groups of scientists, teachers, amateur astronomers, disseminators and non-profit organizations, originated in the United States, but with a global reach. As detailed on the official website, the event aims to "install in the public a sense of wonder and curiosity about our natural satellite." This initiative has the backing of NASA, the Astronomical Society of the Pacific (San Francisco, California), the Lunar and Planetary Institute (in Houston, Texas), the LRO mission, and the Night Sky Network.
The Planetarium of Buenos Aires Galileo Galilei will once again actively participate in this free and public international event, one of the most traditional and important in the world.
The visitors will be able to observe the Moon by several telescopes installed in the esplanade of access to the building. They will also be able to participate in the didactic talks -with audiovisual support- by specialized personnel.Numbers will be given to those who wish to observe with half an hour of anticipation.
