The heavy rains associated with this strong storm are still moving through Saturday morning in the northeast. Some floods are still possible, especially in parts of New England, with rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour. An initial burst of strong winds is likely in New England.

However, as the storm moves rapidly northward and eastward, it will intensify rapidly as it moves toward southern Canada. Behind the storm, widespread strong winds will develop in the northeast with gusts of 30 to 50 mph expected. Power cuts and fallen trees will be possible, and wind warnings and warnings of strong winds have been issued for much of the northeast until Saturday.

New storm in development

Meanwhile, a new system will develop rapidly in the central EE zone. UU Saturday. As the storm intensifies on Saturday night and early Sunday, a large storm line with heavy local rainfall from Texas to Illinois is possible. While the severe threat must remain limited, a couple of damaging wind gusts may occur at the southern end of the storm line, particularly in parts of Louisiana.

The storm will slide east for Monday with probable rain from the Great Lakes to the Carolinas.

Severe weather possibilities in the south

Unfortunately, the weather pattern looks pretty active next week, with another storm developing on Sunday and Monday.

By Monday, a powerful storm, with a cold front moving forward, will glide through the valleys of the Mississippi and Ohio rivers. As a result, the chances of a significant severe weather event increase by Monday afternoon and until Tuesday, election day. The main risk will be to damage the winds and possibly several tornadoes.
