Exhibition "Luz Invisible" at UDP, Santiago
.
Luz Invisible is the new exhibition of luminescent paintings that the artist Animä hop made this year as part of the dissemination activities for the Day of Astronomy. Project carried out thanks to the support of the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the ALMA Observatory.
This exhibition tells us how the Universe communicates through different wave frequencies, from the radio, infrared, visible light, gamma waves, among others.
We can hardly visualize part of the information that the Universe gives us, but thanks to the different observatories that are in Chile and that study the cosmos through different wave frequencies, we can decipher the Universe beyond what we imagine.
What would happen if we could not observe anything of what the Universe has exposed us? The light pollution produced by the cities, inhibits us to be able to observe at a glance the universal context in which we find ourselves and makes observation of telescopes more difficult.
This exhibition aims to talk about light pollution and how the ALMA observatory studies the universe, giving a quota of curiosity and astonishment when it is illuminated in complete darkness.
