Astrophotographic Contest for the 2016 Astronomical Calendar
For the fourth consecutive year, the Center for Astronomical Observations COAS of Venezuela, in alliance with the Chilean Amateur Astronomical Community CAACH and facebook groups Latin American Astrophotography Y Astrophotographers Associated with the Chilean Astronomical Community invite the entire Latin American amateur astronomical community to participate in the Contest "2016 Astronomical Calendar" which is taking place from September 14 to November 30, 2015.
Saying
The purpose of the contest is to select a group of astrophotographs
winners, which will be part of the next astronomical calendar
2016, which will be published and distributed free of charge in the blog of the
COAS and on the websites of the CAACH, being the fundamental objective of
this contest to present some of the best works
made by Latin American astrophotographers during the year 2015.
The photographs selected as
winners will be a total of 12, assigning one for each month of the year, as well
as also 3 outstanding images will be chosen, which will be
published in the introduction, glossary and the general fund of the
calendar.
The
photographers, amateur astronomers or astrophotographers who wish
They must be natural persons from the following countries:
Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador,
El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama,
Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The
Selection of the winning images will be made by a jury
international team consisting of 5 people who will evaluate the technique used,
the quality and difficulty to obtain them, among other aspects. The preliminary results will be announced on Saturday, December 5, 2015.
Before sending the images it is essential to read carefully the rules of the contest as well as all data on requirements, dates, techniques, selection, etc.
Each contestant can participate through this link:
with a single astronomical image,
which must be strictly its authorship, original and not published
previously on any page, blog, social network or group
astronomical.
The
content of the images submitted to the contest must be
completely of astronomical reason, being able to use any
astrophotography technique for its realization (with telescope or camera
on tripod), processed or not.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The winners of this contest will NOT lose their respective rights
about his work, however, presenting his photographs implies his Total compliance and no objection
to have their images published in the 2016 Astronomical Calendar,
where they will also mention their respective full names and countries
of origin in a special section of said calendar, making them
arrive as a final certificate a certificate of participation.
