100 new astronomy jokes
100 new astronomy jokes
A small contribution (s) mico to the daily grimace. Then I present a text embedded in the post as a document in pdf format and that can be downloaded from the indicated link.
It is not a compilation of pre-existing jokes, but 100 new creations from me, with an introductory comic text and another final text. The story is short: at the beginning of November my mother died, after being more than three months hospitalized. It was a bitter, distressing period. In order not to fall into a depressing spiral, I sought to think of other things. So, I came up with a post about "Alien Communication" that ended up coming out very geeky or nerdy. I liked the result and then I thought of the idea of collecting astronomy jokes, to connect with something cheerful. I started doing that, until I started to evaluate the possibility of inventing jokes, instead of compiling them. For a few days I had that idea going around in my head, until I came up with a joke. And using the same style, another one. Then I looked up an astronomy dictionary to use it as raw material and it turned out to be very fruitful. I already had 15. Astronomy is a science of large numbers. How many are many jokes? I told myself that 1000 would be an astronomical amount. If he invented 10 jokes per week, since there are 52 weeks a year, it would take almost two years to do that amount, as long as he did not quit earlier. It was too high a goal, it had to be more humble. 50 was more than I already had and could be a good goal. A few days later, I already had that number. I raised the rod to 100, with that decimal fetishism so human. And i did it. Then there were a few days of correction, to remove the jokes that were out of tune and replace by others. Finally I was satisfied. Despite this, there are some that I find really good and others, not so much.
The brief ten-page work is dedicated to the memory of my mother, Nelly Ángela Costante (1945-2018). I added acknowledgments, including Korochi Industries, the fictitious name of the author of a web page that now uses Twitter and makes short jokes with title. So are these jokes, to the point that in some cases the joke is the title.
For its extension, I decided to publish in pdf format, as if it were a book. Since it is in electronic format it is easy to modify and update if necessary. I do not consider it appropriate to explain the jokes. The one that is not understood will be easy to understand with simple searches on the web. I will be attentive to the comments that can be left through the form on this page for this purpose or through the mail that appears in the "About" tab.
