Turkey reveals plans to tame inflation





ISTANBUL: The Turkish government revealed measures aimed at curbing double-digit inflation that has helped erode investor confidence in the country and has contributed to a sharp depreciation of the currency this year.

The Turkish Finance Minister, Berat Albayrak, presented on Tuesday a series of measures that the government expects to lower inflation, which stood at almost 25% in September, compared to just under 18% in the previous month. The September inflation figure was the highest in Turkey in 15 years.
