Trump says he will hold Daniels and Avenatti responsible for legal fees

President Trump assaulted on Tuesday the lawyer of adult film star Stormy Daniels, Michael Avenatti, who is considering a presidential candidacy in 2020 and is one of the most vocal critics of the president, after a federal judge filed a defamation lawsuit against the president on Monday.

"I just beat him in a big case ... hit him badly In fact, he has to pay me the legal fees," Trump told Trish Regan of Fox Business. "I do not think he has money, but he and she have to pay me a lot of legal fees, based on Texas law, I love Texas, based on Texas law, where legal fees are good and abundant."

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, says she had an affair with Trump. She sued the president in April for a tweet in which he denied his claims of being threatened by a man in a Las Vegas parking lot in 2011.

"A sketch years later about a non-existent man. A total scam job, playing Fake News Media for Fools (but they know it)! ", Trump tweeted in April.

Daniels, in an exclusive "60 minute" interview, said a man threatened her for making public the alleged sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.

Trump has denied the accusations of matters, but recognizes that a payment for secret money was made.

As Fox News previously informed, the US District Judge. UU S. James Otero dismissed the defamation argument and said the tweet "constitutes a" rhetorical hyperbole "normally associated with politics and public discourse in the United States."

He ruled: "The First Amendment protects this kind of rhetorical claim."

The federal judge, in Los Angeles, ordered Daniels, a resident of Texas, to pay the legal fees of the president. The amount Daniels would have to pay will be determined later, Trump's lawyer Charles Harder said Monday night.

Trump told Regan that he would force them to account for those duties: "Would not you be disappointed if you said no? No, no, they're going to pay a lot."

Trish Regan of Fox Business Network contributed to this report.
