The Red Sox and the Dodgers tied with 1 after 11 in Game 3 of the Series
Game 3 of the World Series entered the 13th in a 1-1 stalemate.
Neither the Boston Red Sox nor the Los Angeles Dodgers were very successful in the 12th. It's not a surprise for a game dominated by pitching. Nathan Eovaldi, who was ready to start Game 4, made his third relay appearance of the week and threw a perfect inning, surpassing 101 mph with his fastball.
Boston leads the series to the best of seven 2-0.
Cody Bellinger made a sensational pitch from center field to catch a Red Sox runner on the plate in the tenth.
Manny Machado had the chance to win for Los Angeles in the bottom of the tenth, but Red Sox closer Craig Kimbrel made him appear with two outs and a runner in the second.
Bellinger saved the Dodgers at the top of the 10th, caught a flying ball at medium depth and threw the pinch runner Ian Kinsler to the plate for a double play at the end of the inning. Bellinger was 27 meters from home when he caught the fly of hitter Eduardo Nunez, Statcast said.
Dodgers rookie Walker Buehler had a brilliant start to leaving the team with the highest score in the majors with only two singles in seven innings.
Jackie Bradley Jr. hit a home run in the eighth inning of Boston against closer Kenley Jansen for a total. Joc Pederson hit an early home run for Los Angeles with Rick Porcello.
The Dodgers had a chance at the end of the ninth, but pinch hitter Brian Dozier missed with the runners in first and second to finish the inning.
Boston manager Alex Cora made all kinds of moves, trying to help his team take a 3-0 lead.
Just starting and winning Wednesday night at Fenway Park, left-hander David Price came out of the Red Sox bullpen to pitch the ninth. He left a single off to Bellinger, then eliminated him with one out - Bellinger was marked after a long run that took the nine Boston players nearby, ready to participate.
Cora went back to working in her garden in the eighth when Machado pulled two outs and a runner in first position, protecting against the batter who was pulling a ball. He moved Bradley from center to left, moved Mookie Betts from right to center and slid J.D. Martinez, the weakest of the three, from left to right.
