Not only is the apparent UFO crash remembered in the desert sands, just outside of Las Vegas, in April 1962, at least until relatively recently, the researchers practically ignored it at that time. And in the years that followed. It would seem, in retrospect, unlike incidents like Roswell, for example, that the events outside Sin City were deliberately kept as secret and as hidden as possible. For as long as possible. With this in mind, then, the question arises, what was so important or significant about the "clash" in Las Vegas that triggered this response?

Maybe, in part, it was pure opportunism given that the otherworldly vehicle It would crash into the ground within the confines of Nellis Air Force Base, allowing the US Army instant access to the paralyzed ship before the vast majority of the outside world was aware that something out of the ordinary had happened. At least officially. Despite the relatively successful mission of maintaining the low profile status of the event for several decades, it is an event that has literally dozens of witnesses.

A "Bright red ball"About New York, to the west!

On the afternoon of the 18thth In April 1962, the US military radar units. UU They began to track a strange and unknown object that appeared in the New York airspace in Oneida and was heading west. Reports would describe a "bright red ball" that moved at great speed however, he did not make any sound. It would continue "crossing" the skies of the United States. The sightings and radar confirmation of the object would come from Kansas and Colorado. As the mysterious object approached Arizona, fighter jets were scrambled from Luke Air Force Base near Phoenix.

According to other reports, the glowing ship "fell" in Eureka, Utah. However, after several moments it would rise again and continue westward. During its temporary earthing, electrical service was lost to a nearby power plant.

Then, it disappeared over the state of Nevada, near Las Vegas. However, for those on the ground at Nellis Air Force Base outside of Las Vegas, they knew exactly where the strange ship had disappeared. The sudden explosion, whose moment coincided with the disappearance of the object, told them everything they needed to know. Within the air base, if such claims are accurate, there was a hive of sudden activity.

While military personnel rushed to their stations and units were sent to investigate the suddenly knocked down and mysterious object behind the perimeters of the base, residents and civilians from the cities in the Las Vegas area and surrounding areas began to Call the authorities about the strange bright light in the sky. As well as the sudden sound of the apparent explosion. The deputy sheriff, Walter Bun, would authorize a search unit to investigate. Leaving in suitable jeeps for the terrain, they headed to the Spring Mountain area. They would search through the night. However, they would not find anything significant.

A "Tremendous flaming sword!"

The newspaper "Las Vegas Sun" would publish a headline the following day, indicating that "Brilliant Red Explosion Flares In Las Vegas Sky". In addition, the account was relatively forceful and, apparently, accurate, asserting that an "unidentified foreign object" was responsible for the incident and that it had "the air force on alert in several states." They would describe the object as a "tremendous flaming sword". In addition, according to the staff photographer, Frank Maggio, a "series of bright explosions" soon followed the sighting when the strange ship broke and disappeared in the direction of Las Vegas.

It was when the UFO researcher, Kevin Randle, was re-examining the case, that he found entries in the recently declassified "Blue Book Files." In fact, they would record an "unidentified" radar sighting at Nellis Air Force Base. However, for inexplicable reasons, this was later changed to "Data insufficient for a scientific analysis". Perhaps what most alerted Randle to some kind of cover-up, however, was the fact that, despite official reports from the Sheriff's Office, including his all-night search in the area, the records would say no. There was "no visual" confirmation of the incident. This was a very poorly informed entry. Or it was an absolute and intentional falsehood.

An additional investigation of the records in states like New York, Kansas and even Utah, which hosted an apparent temporary landing, would say that the sightings are "probably related to meteorites." However, Randle would also discover several reports made by military personnel at Nellis Air Force Base on the night in question. They would make an interesting reading, to say the least.

The military reports declassified

Perhaps one of the most intriguing military reports is that of Captain Herman Gordon Shields. He would say that he was flying a C-119 airplane two miles west of La Van, Utah. Despite the time of day (almost midnight), the plane's cabin suddenly "started to get very bright". Shields could tell that the source of light came from above him and "slowly accumulated." Neither he nor his co-pilot, Lieutenant Larson, could see the real source of light.

As they continued, trying to turn and move away from the strange object, the light continued to increase its brightness. So much so, that each one could see different details illuminated on the floor. Shields would describe the surrounding scene as "as bright as daylight."

Suddenly, the glow began to fade, faster than it had taken to increase its intensity. When doing it, the end of Shields glimpsed the object. I would describe it as having a "long, thin appearance, comparable to a cigarette." I would claim that the lower part of the object was extremely bright "like a magnesium fire," while the remaining section was light yellow. However, Shields would only see him for a few seconds before he disappeared. He would remember, however, that "there was no escape". (And) no trace follows it. " I would also affirm that it was very "clearly defined". Essentially, it was not a natural object like a meteor. It was smart design.

the "Eureka Files"

There was also more information about the apparent landing at Eureka. In fact, the report, to say that it was officially "a meteor" without visual confirmation, would be published in seven full pages. Numerous people reported having witnessed a "fireball" as well as hearing a "series of explosions." A particular sighting of a witness (with the name "blank" before his release) in Silver City, Utah, would state that the object was "white with a yellowish tinge", which was remarkably similar to the description given by the aforementioned Shields .

The head of criminal investigation at Hill Air Force Base, Douglas Crouch, would interview many of the witnesses. Despite the final official explanations, he wrote in the conclusion of the report that "all the observers interviewed were logical and mature people". In addition, each was "convinced" to have seen a "tangible object" and not an airplane such as an airplane, a balloon or a helicopter.

It would also affirm that "unusual meteorological or astronomical conditions were not present" that could explain the sightings. In short, Crouch believed that it was not a meteor. There was also no military evidence in the area at that time. And if there was any doubt about Crouch's initial findings, he would end, "no explanation has been developed for the bright illumination of the area, the object itself or the explosion" that would follow the sightings.

Lieutenant-Colonel Robert Friend, who would conduct a follow-up investigation in May 1962, would also express doubts about the meteor theory, claiming, in fact, that "it could not have been a meteor" responsible for the sightings that night. . Not only because of the number of witnesses who claimed to have seen the object "change course" while they were in the air.

Intriguing sights of Nephi

In fact, several of these "other" witnesses would reveal fascinating insights and details of the night's events. All of which would question the idea that the incident was merely a meteor. Nephi's sheriff, Raymond Jackson, for example, would report hearing a "kind of roar" when the object passed overhead. While observing the disappearance of the object, he remembered several "roars" and flashing lights.

Nephi resident, Dan Johnson, would also remember the events of the night. He was working in his field with his friend Maurice Memmott. The area was completely dark when it suddenly lit up when the object passed overhead. I would clearly remember it "landing somewhere in the distance". Perhaps of greater interest were the "various military" who were present in the area immediately afterwards. Several of whom "interviewed" both him and Memmott. It is interesting that another local newspaper would also declare that there was a military presence in the area during the night in question. They claimed that they had arrived from Dugway Proving Grounds and that they were army personnel. The additional investigation would appear to show two separate military units that attended that night in April 1962.

Sergeant Sherwood of Utah Highway Patrol was also in Nephi during the sighting. He would claim that he saw the object and that "it seemed to explode right on top of it." As it did, a "cloud of white sparks" flew in all directions. His wife also heard the explosion and witnessed the bright light as she ran outside to make sure she had not hurt her husband.

More evidence of intelligent design?

Perhaps one of the best sightings, and certainly one that suggested that the object was under intelligent control, was that of Bob Robinson, who, along with Floyd Evans, was traveling to the city of Eureka, some thirty miles from Nephi. . After an unrelated stop during which Robinson would get out of the truck to stretch his legs for a moment, the two men noticed a light approaching in the sky ahead. Evans would tell his friend he was a jet, but in a few moments he was practically on top. Robinson could see the "burning object" as well as a "series of windows" along one side.

Both men equally frightened by what could be this would take refuge under the truck on the road. As the object moved closer, the headlights dimmed and the engine started to sizzle. Even more alarming, since he finally reached his position directly above them, he seemed to slow down and hover over them momentarily. After two minutes or so, he moved forward, seemingly without interest in them or in his vehicle. By doing so, the engine returned to a healthy sound and the headlights returned to full power.

Robinson would arrive home, obviously in danger and visibly affected by the events of the night. He would be even more so when his wife, Betty, revealed that she had seen the same object from her home. She would tell her husband that she suddenly heard a great roar while sitting in the living room. The entire interior of the house would illuminate for several seconds in a "stroboscopic effect". Then he spent returning the room to normal.

A craft of extraterrestrial origin?

Another resident of Eureka who witnessed the same object was police chief Joseph Bernini. Along with the others attending a city council meeting, he would witness the sudden and urgent glow. As well as the roar "like an artillery projectile" that goes over. At the same time, all street lights would go off for several seconds. This suggests once again that the object also brought with it some kind of electrical interference. By the way, this is a recurring detail in many of these close contact sightings.

The military would later admit the revolt of the airplanes, from two bases of the air force, nothing less (Nellis and Luke). This may show how extraordinary events like 18th April passed his torch at 19 o'clock.th. How could the military and the authorities keep the sightings so disconnected and dismissed? In part, due to "state by state" investigations as separate incidents.

Only after the publication of the archives, and when the investigators began to examine such cases again, did the events of the 18th April 1962 came together and witnessed what it was. An event in which several people witnessed an anomalous boat almost the entire stretch of the United States. From New York, in the Midwest, and after a temporary landing, it crashed somewhere in the desert near Las Vegas.

Or, if the US military saw a sufficient reason to keep the events hidden for so long, is it possible that this case is not one of a crashed UFO? But one of a trade intentionally intercepted and knocked down by force? Whatever it was that brought this mysterious object to the sands of the Nevada desert, one thing seems very likely. It was, in fact, an art intelligently designed. Maybe one of extraterrestrial origin.
