The judges reject the appeal of the environmental sentence of Kavanaugh





The Supreme Court refuses to review an environmental resolution written by Brett Kavanaugh In his previous role as judge of an appeals court.

Tuesday's judges put into effect an August 2017 ruling by the new Supreme Court judge that overturned an Obama-era Environmental Protection Agency rule. The objective of this rule was to limit the release of a class of chemicals that contribute to global warming.

Kavanaugh wrote that EPA lacks the authority to regulate chemicals under a part of the Clean Air Act that treats chemicals that deplete the ozone layer.

The chemicals are hydrofluorocarbons or HFCs. They are industrial chemical products that are used mainly in cooling and replace the compounds that consume ozone.

The Trump administration says it agrees with the decision on the appeal and that a new rule is in process.
