About 200 protesters march through the lawn of the US Capitol to the foot of the south wing. Inside, the United States Senate is closing the debate, hours before the Saturday afternoon vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh. Members of the crowd climb the steps, display professionally printed banners, stand up defiantly and pump their fists into the air.
"Whose house is it?", They scream.
"Our house!", They respond.
At the time of voting, they have moved across the street to the Supreme Court building. After receiving the news of the vote, again the steps are hurried. Two women climb the statues that flank the steps: "Contemplation of justice" and "Authority of the law", to get more stabs.
On the steps, Bob Bland, co-founder of the Women's March, silently sends a sign of approval to another leader, and then boasts of saying, "We take the Supreme Court." On Friday, the March of the Woman had sent a photo of Sen Susan Collins, who cast the deciding vote for Judge Kavanaugh, with "Apape of rape" written on her image.
