The black pajamas of Hugh Hefner's trademark to hit the auction block

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Hugh Hefner's black silk pajama and smoking red jacket, trademark of the Playboy founder, will be sold as part of an auction of his belongings, including his complete set of Playboy magazines.

Julien's Auctions said Friday that the sale would also include Hefner's white captain's hat, a 1974 Monopoly custom board game that includes a Playboy Bunny piece, his twins with the Playboy Bunny logo, the 2016 passport and his Bible.

Hefner, who helped initiate the sexual revolution in the 1960s with his magazine and nightclubs, died in September 2017 at the age of 91. He left his property at his foundation, which is putting some of the items for sale.

All income from November 30 to December. 1 auction in Los Angeles will go to the Hefner Foundation, which was created in 1964 to defend civil liberties, including LGBT rights and the legalization of medical marijuana.

"My father lived an extraordinary life as an editorial, social and cultural pioneer and left a legacy that his foundations will perpetuate," said his daughter, Christie Hefner, in a statement.

The dozens of items on sale include one of Hefner's signature tubes (estimated to be sold for $ 2,000 to $ 3,000), his personal copy of the first edition of Playboy with Marilyn Monroe from 1953 on the cover ( $ 3,000 to $ 5,000), a 1946 Wurlitzer record box with 24 original albums ($ 10,000 to $ 20,000), and a limited edition set of 48 Playboy prints ($ 20,000 to $ 30,000).

It is expected that Hefner's pajamas and smoking jacket, which became a symbol of his parties at the Playboy mansion in Los Angeles, will reach up to $ 2,000 and $ 5,000, respectively.

In 2016, Playboy magazine eliminated full frontal nudity, but that policy was reversed a year later.

The Playboy Clubs, heavily criticized by feminists, closed in 1991, but a place in New York reopened in September, complete with waitresses wearing corsets, soft tails and rabbit ears.
