In almost all social networks have emerged many individuals who are dedicated to publish in all parts that can what they consider is the "absolute truth and without censorship."
Some call themselves seers, other researchers, and even some are pseudo-journalists. But their "truth" is just a bunch of lies manipulated and intertwined to make them more "credible" for the most innocent and naive.
Many of these subjects, with all their treachery and advantage, abuse their "freedom of expression" and dedicate themselves to publishing misinformation and completely false news (hoaxes), without the slightest remorse, although much of it can cause confusion, panic and even put at risk people who are exposed to said "information". For example all the disinformation that there is about vaccines, that although it is shown that they are not dangerous or harmful, there are people who continue spreading falsehoods about them, endangering others.
Only some do it because they really believe in what they publish, out of ignorance or because their minds are so closed that they can not see their error, some could even be irrational fanaticism, or it could be a possible picture of the Dunning Kruger defect, that mental illness that makes those people believe that they have an intellectual superiority over others, even if the evidence points out the opposite. They are totally denied to see a reality other than what they want.
In 2014, important news was given that three individuals were imprisoned by the Chilean police for having spread through social networks the false news of a supposed "mega-earthquake" that would affect Chile, a country that has been hit by this type of facts, but like all those "forecasts", turned out to be false, reason why the authorities acted of fair and intelligent way, arresting those types that, in all measure, can be described like "ciberterroristas". The problem is that they are not the only ones who have committed this type of acts.
Not long ago the High Court of Justice of the Netherlands prohibited a group from continuing to promote pedophilia, an act they committed, alleging that they did so "in the name of freedom of expression and association." But that is not any freedom of expression, that is to abuse innocent children.
Freedom of expression, like all liberties, has its limits, especially when innocent people are damaged, although many people do not like it, but that's the way it is. Each freedom entails obligations and duties to fulfill, that's why we are rational and civilized beings. Although some of these individuals like to take a false pose to try to show a disrespectful attitude to the law or society, without caring about the ethics, dignity or freedoms of others, abusing their freedom with a total disregard against others.
People who live in society have to respect and obey certain norms or canons of behavior, simply because they are not alone, since our actions and words can affect in one way or another those around us. Therefore, we are obliged by law, or by simple honor, dignity and decency, to reason logically and rationally what we say and do. We are not just wild and unconscious animals that only bark or swim only because they can.
We can not rely on simple beliefs or superstitions to act. And it is here when the scammers begin to attack, when they are exposed and put in evidence, they start to pronounce more fallacies and sophisms in order to continue screaming their frauds and scams, whether they are political, religious, ideological or mercadotécnico.
This type of people take great care that their followers ("sheep") only do what they say without being questioned, in order to continue abusing them and take advantage of them as much as possible. For example all those politicians who call themselves "revolutionaries" but who live on the taxes of the people without doing anything for them, or the "specialists" who tell so many lies against the consumption of milk or chemtrails, based on false "investigations" without any scientific foundation that is real.
Freedom of expression has to go through a very important filter, which the philosopher Socrates described with his words: "If it is not true, neither good nor necessary, it does not deserve to be known by anyone, let's bury it in oblivion". And that is the most healthy for everyone. If you need a catharsis to expel your traumas or complexes, do it in a way and in a place that does not bother anyone, because nobody has to endure your whims for lack of mental maturity.
But if you do it in the media or on the internet, you should know that perhaps no one can prevent you from being able to tell your hoaxes, but you can be punished for having said them, and even more if you harm the innocent with that, so simple. Cause and effect, something simple, is your decision, which will reflect your human quality.
The freedoms, rights and obligations that all people have are agreements established in common agreement to maintain a healthy coexistence in community, is not something that is taken by nature at birth, as some believe. They were created by humans to function as a society.
If you want to demand "freedom of expression," or "free internet," you first have to demand that everything published, whether it is published, truthful and verifiable, that they are not mere deceptions. But above all, you have to start with yourself, not mystifying or disinforming.
Who announces without any corroborative evidence some type of catastrophe or devotes to divulge false medical or scientific information, that puts in risk the health and integrity of innocents, or that promotes ideas of hatred that in some way threatens the liberties and dignity of others, He must be punished.
