The opposite of populism would be technocracy, a government based on knowledge, education, science and technology. But for that we need that people like to think, reason and learn new things, to develop knowledge; not to recycle false beliefs and old myths. Neo-obscurantism must be extirpated from society.
We would need people to stop believing "statistics" from "surveys" that do not represent the true feeling of a population, much less represent reality based on verifiable evidence. It does not matter that one believes to be right, we must all have that reason if we want this country, and the entire world to advance in the direction of progress and development.
Is it too much to ask them to reason with logic instead of thinking with the viscera? So we will not get anywhere good, just the opposite. The worst part of the case is that they do not even know what technocracy is because it is to go beyond their knowledge and ideas.
