Senior class eager to create better memories of March

A variety of factors prevented Kansas State's Dean Wade, Wisconsin's Ethan Happ and Kentucky's newcomer Reid Travis from finishing the season the way they would have wanted last year.

They want their last years to end differently.

A foot injury caused Wade to play a total of eight minutes in the NCAA Tournament during the Wildcats' run to an NCAA regional final last season. Wisconsin went 15-18 last season to finish a series of 19 consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament. Travis never reached the NCAA Tournament during his four seasons at Stanford, which included a shortened injury campaign that resulted in a red shirt.

"I did not see any of the tournaments because of how bitter I was about it," said Happ. "Obviously, life is fun in some way, let's hope that this great failure becomes something special this season."

They are eager to create better memories of March this season.

Happ is back for his senior season in Wisconsin. Wade is healthy again and anxious for Kansas State to return to the postseason. Travis is now a graduate transfer in Kentucky, a move that significantly improves his chances of reaching the NCAA Tournament.
