Sean Hannity: Why am I reading David Limbaugh's new book & # 039; & # 039; Jesus is Risen & # 039;

My friend David Limbaugh has released a new book, "Jesus is risen: Paul and the early church" in which he explores the Book of Acts and six of the first epistles of the Apostle Paul. This is his fourth Christian book, and I enjoyed it as much as his first three.

I have known David for a long time and I clearly remember when he became passionate about the Bible. His contagious enthusiasm has deeply impacted my personal journey of faith.

Although I fully recognize that my trip is not as deep as David's, he has been a dear friend who kindly points me in the right direction, apparently at times when I need it most, to find all the answers I'm looking for. I am always grateful for such help and wisdom.

What I like most about David's books is that after years of accumulating knowledge, wisdom and spiritual knowledge, he has a unique ability to easily transmit his knowledge to readers.

David makes deep and complicated biblical principles completely understandable to many of us who can not devote countless hours to passionate Bible study, as he does. It is an amazing service that offers to all who read their books.

Christian history and theology have always fascinated me, but I have not studied in depth for a long time. "Jesus is risen: Paul and the early church" involves both themes.

The Book of Acts tells the story of the early church after the death, resurrection and ascension of Christ. Paul's epistles contain practical advice and instructions for the churches he founded, as well as teachings on doctrine.

David covers the Acts from beginning to end. As I read the four chapters dedicated to him, I was intrigued by the exciting and turbulent struggles of the early church when Paul and the other apostles preached the Gospel throughout the Roman Empire against fierce adversity and persecution.

These chapters provide an understanding of Christianity through the eyes of its founders.

The events surrounding the early church come to life, as we see ordinary people transformed from skeptics and unbelievers to ardent evangelists of the Good News. In cases like Paul, they transform themselves amazingly from persecutors to persecuted.

Especially interesting are the many profound discourses of the early Christians when they tried to convince everyone they knew, Jews and Gentiles, that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and is the Messiah that God promised through the prophets of the Old Testament.

It is fascinating how Stephen, Peter, John, Paul and others separately summarized the history of Israel, as told in the Old Testament, to show that Jesus was who his people had been waiting for: the promised Redeemer who was also the Savior of the humanity.

It is exciting to learn the continuing relevance of the Old Testament to the Gospel as described by these men who put everything in danger to testify of Christ.

This message angered the religious authorities. They stoned Stephen to death because he did not obey his orders to stop preaching the Gospel; he repeatedly persecuted and imprisoned Peter and John for refusing to obey the authorities instead of God; and tormented Paul for spreading the word relentlessly on three missionary trips and his mission to Rome.

Nothing is more stimulating for a Christian than to see how these men were more like Christ by sacrificially obeying their mandate to preach the Gospel in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and anywhere on Earth.

Reading this story gives us a great perspective of the character and tribulations of these ordinary men who became great leaders in communicating the message of Christ's offer of eternal life to all those who place their faith in Him for the remission of your sins

The chapters of Paul's epistles are also captivating, as he addressed the problems of various local churches, from the false teachers to the Lord's Supper, and explained the significance of the resurrection of Christ and the relationship between law and grace.

I can not tell you how much I have learned about the Bible and theology from reading this book, as well as David's previous books, and how much my faith has grown.

Yes, David Limbaugh is my friend, but I would not say bad. If you have promised yourself that you would begin to read the Bible more faithfully but have not yet done so, reading this book would be an excellent way to begin your study. It will give you a deep immersion in the books of the New Testament and a solid foundation in theology.

Honestly, I wish this book was written years ago because it has enriched my understanding and inspired me to read the Bible more on my own.

If you have been postponing the search for serious Bible studies or simply wish to acquire a deeper understanding of it, I could not recommend "Jesus has risen: Paul and the early Church" more firmly. Read it - you'll be glad you did
