A Palestinian Bedouin village scheduled for demolition is dealing with a large pool of sewage, apparently from a nearby Israelsettlement

Wastewater flowed downhill to Khan al-Ahmar earlier this week, and Friday was still in a ravine over the corrugated tin huts of the West Bank community.

The Israeli Civil Administration in the West Bank said a sewer pipe burst in the area and that the army was sending a truck to pump the waste.

The Supreme Court of Israel recently rejected a final appeal against plans to demolish the village. Israel says that Khan al-Ahmar was built illegally and has offered to resettle its residents a few miles away. Palestinians and other critics say the demolition aims to displace the Palestinians in favor of the expansion of Israeli settlements.
