Review of Google Pixel 3: this phone updates the entire universe of Android
The age of the annual update is about to end. For decades, the only way to get the latest and greatest technology was to buy new things: a new computer with that color screen, a new CD-ROM drive, a new version of "Halo." Now "Fortnite" launches new weapons and characters every few weeks, your Tesla gains skills while you sleep and your talker Alexa becomes more intelligent almost constantly.
When Google announced the new Pixel 3, the last of the company Line of smart phones designed to compete. with
IPhones and Samsung Galaxy phones marketed the many ingenious features of the phone. Your camera knows when you smile! Protect your calls! Augmented reality fun Donald Glover! Then he revealed the best news of all: Most of what makes the Pixel 3 great is also aimed at older pixels.-And probably also on other Android devices.
Google really reaffirmed the obvious: hardware does not matter anymore, especially because most of our devices have more power than we are using. It could be again when we started using AR glasses and waving auto-flight cars, but for now, software is everything.
The Google lens feature allows you to point the Pixel camera to a web address to visit, a phone number to call it, or a date to add to your calendar.

If you are looking for a new phone, the Pixel 3 is the best Android device on the market. It even beats the iPhone in several important ways. If you are not looking for a new device, and if you bought a phone in the last year, why would you do it? I should still be happy that Pixel 3 exists. Because it will probably also improve your phone.
Choose a size
Pixel 3 actually refers to two devices. There's the 5.5-inch smartphone that's a bit smaller and lighter than the iPhone XS, and there's the giant 6.3-inch XL version. (They start at $ 799 and $ 899, respectively.) The smaller phone has large bevels at the top and bottom, while the larger has a large notch similar to an iPhone at the top of its screen. Apart from the screen and battery sizes, Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL are identical.
It is possible that the Pixel 3 is not focused on the hardware, but I like how the phone looks and feels. It is not the most dense and glassy gem that is the iPhone, but it is soft and attractive, quite attractive by itself. Otherwise, this waterproof rectangle without headphones ticks many boxes:
* Processor: Quick
* Screen: Live and colorful
* Camera: Better than ever, especially for selfies.
* Battery duration: Usually, he is not dead before bedtime (but not yet long enough)
* Fingerprint reader: In the back where I like (although I want the phone to have facial recognition)
Oddly enough, my favorite part of the new phone could be its wireless charging accessory: Google's $ 79 pixel support turns the phone into a Google Home, displaying useful information and taking voice commands as it fills up.
Helping Hand
There is no pixel function more important than the Wizard, Google's talkative virtual assistant. You can take a selfie, answer questions, start music, show weather and calendars, turn off lights, open settings, find an application and much more. In Pixel 3, you can even filter your calls: touch a button and Google answers the call for you, informing the unavailable person and transcribing what they say in return. It is impressive and deeply strange.
One of the best features of the phone is Top Shot, which takes a flurry of photos and then chooses the clearest and best.

Of course, the whole point of Assistant is that it works everywhere. The call detection feature will reach other pixels next month, and probably also to other Android devices soon. I like the Assistant a lot better than Siri, but you do not need the Pixel to get it.
When the Wizard meets the Pixel camera, the phone really shines. There's Google Lens, the function that essentially turns the camera into a search box: it determines what's in the frame and gives you more information about it. Finally
Google plans to offer enhanced navigation and information on benchmarks and businesses. Even now, it is useful to point my camera to a business card and immediately get a message to dial the number that appears on it.
The Pixel 3 has a Photobooth mode, which is supposed to take a picture when you smile or make a silly grimace. It's great when it works, but too inconsistent. Another function, called Top Shot, works better: take a series of photos and then try to choose the best one to show you.
The Pixel XL model is 6.3 inches, while the Pixel 3 has a 5.5-inch screen.

Even without all the luxury features, the Pixel 3 takes incredible photos and videos. My photos, particularly in low light, often came out with better color and sharper details that the iPhone XS Y Galaxy Note 9. The portrait mode of the Pixel 3 now offers some of the smart lighting and refocusing features you'll find in the latest iPhones, and it works just as well. In general, the phone favors something between the accurate shots but blah Apple and the focus of life in Samsung's technicolor. It's vibrant and rich, but it still feels real.
Not all the photos came out perfect. There is only one camera on the back, so you can not replicate the optical zoom of the second lens of iPhone or Note. Also, when Google's algorithms make occasional mistakes, the results may be too dark or unbalanced.
The Pixel 3 does not have some of the excellent additional features of Note 9, but it does not have its software too complicated. And if you're a fan of the iPhone, the Pixel 3 camera is probably not enough to turn off iMessage and take the leap. But if you are an Android user looking for an update, your option is to get this or wait until the things that make this phone is excellent on other Android phones appear, maybe even the one that is already in your pocket.
