In a series of now viral tweets published on Friday, Sister Liza Campero, of El Paso, detailed what happened to her 14-year-old brother, Aaron.
It started when Aaron apparently disconnected the family's WiFi with the intention of cutting off his mother's access to the security camera while she was at work, so he would not see what he was doing.
The boy snatched the keys to his mother's new car and went to pick up his friend, whose mother gave the tip to the mother to do it.
With Campero in the passenger seat, the children's mother saw the vehicle driving on a highway and shouted quickly and angrily to "stop now."
"Give me the belt," the mother asked the daughter, who handed her the clothes accessory.
When both cars stopped, the mother was filmed opening the door of the BMW and furiously lashing the child, while her sister laughed in the passenger seat.
The children followed in a video posted on YouTube that the incident "was not the first time Aaron took a car," and Aaron even said he "deserved" the punishment.
"It was a bad choice, I just can not do it again," he said.
