Jared Goff, 10, was "very upset" when the 49ers did not select Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and has been for most of his career. Many would say that he is the most talented passer the league has ever seen, and it is difficult to present a solid case against that.
Sean McVay and Jared Goff will get their first opportunity at Rodgers on Sunday, the Rams' first meeting with the Packers since 2015. Both have great respect for the future Hall of Famer, which McVay said will participate in the "first ticket "- but Goff has a different connection to Rodgers.
Growing up in the Bay Area, Goff was a fan of the 49ers. In 2015, the Niners had the first overall pick in the draft and chose Alex Smith instead of the local kid, Rodgers. On Wednesday, Goff was asked if he had any memories of Rodgers in Cal.
"He was very young, he was a man, in what year was he recruited? 2005 He was 9 years old, yes, I mean yes and no, I can not give you reports, but if I remember that he was there and I remember he goes to some those games, yes, "said Goff.
In regards to that year's draft, Goff was crushed because his home team did not take what appeared to be their favorite player. It goes without saying that Goff, 10, was not happy with the selection.
"I was upset, but with that said, I'm also a fan of Alex (Smith)," Goff said. "But yes, Jared (Goff), 10 years old, was very upset when he found out that they had not taken Aaron."
You could say that Goff took revenge on his favorite team by beating them 39-10 on Sunday, but now he will try to defeat Rodgers for the first time in his career.
