To mitigate the risks of importing the wild poliovirus, India has established more than 100 vaccination posts along India's international borders with Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Bhutan.Environmental monitoring through testing of sewage samples for polio is also taking place in Mumbai, Delhi, Bihar, West Bengal and Punjab.
