How to open the doors of perception at will without psychedelics
We will have a full moon in Taurus on October 24 and 25, depending on where you are in the world. This marks the peak of the Lunar Cycle that began on October 8 and 9 with a New Moon in Libra. The energies of a full moon accumulate gradually earlier in the moon cycle and become more noticeable in the day and the days that surround it. It is also part of the backdrop of the other astrological energies during the next 2 weeks.
In each Full Moon, we feel an impulse between the two opposite signs where the Sun and the Moon are located, in this case Taurus and Scorpio. However, with this specific Full Moon, retrograde Venus and Uranus are directly connected to the opposition, which brings its own energy in a strong way that will be included in the next part of the article.
The Scorpio season began the day before this Full Moon, however, we have been testing it before with other planets that are located there. Scorpio has to do with power, transformation, intensity, sexuality, passion, regeneration, fears and depth. It can be complex, mysterious, vengeful, manipulative, calculated, compulsive and obsessive. As a water sign, it is emotional and intuitive.
This full moon in the opposite sign of Taurus brings its subjects to the equation. This sign is practical and simplified. It is associated with physical, beautiful things, and stimulating the senses. Taurus has to do with the natural world, food, money, values, value and resources. It can be slow, thorough, complacent, deliberate, trustworthy, cautious, yet lazy and postponed. As an earth sign, Taurus is grounded and realistic.
Full Moon Conjunction Uranus opposite Sun and Venus, Saturn in the mix
Normally, in the previous paragraph, I would have mentioned how Taurus is stable and oriented to the routine. However, this Full Moon is aligned with Uranus, which is the opposite of that. Uranus is an important factor of this Full Moon and nullifies some of the general themes of Taurus. Uranus is unpredictable and can bring surprises, jolts, breakthroughs, sudden events, separations, rebellions and, sometimes, even accidents. It can also be revolutionary, innovative, scientific, metaphysical, non-conforming, awakening, insightful, exciting and bringing new experiences. Uranus is associated with originality, freedom and change.
Venus is the ruler of Taurus and has been retrograde from October 5 to 6 (until November 16) in the opposite sign of Scorpio, where the Sun is in this lunation. This retrograde period is a time of reorientation of things connected to Venus that could include relationships, friendships, love, values, money, beauty, pleasures, fun, art or creativity. This retrograde energy of Venus stands out strongly in this Full Moon because Venus governs Taurus and will join the Sun exactly a few days later, which is always a significant part of a retrograde, as it is a period of "sowing". The things that happen or the thoughts we have during the last 10 days of October (especially from 25 to 27) can contribute in some way to how things develop in the next 10 months when it comes to some of the areas governed by Venus mentioned above.
This full moon and retrograde Venus are in harmonious aspects with Saturn. While the energy of Uranus dominates this period, perhaps this can bring some kind of realistic or practical energy to the issues mentioned in this article and can also be linked to surprises and reorganizations as mentioned above. Or, alternatively, we can experience these energies manifested in separate forms.
Venus is also moving towards an opposition with Uranus that activates in this Full Moon, but could play harder as we get closer to October 31st. The Uranus energies mentioned in the first paragraph of this section could affect the Venus issues in a challenging or exciting way. However, keep in mind that any new relationship or aesthetic commitment may be ephemeral, unstable or face surprises. These things can be sudden but not stable. We must also be careful to be too impulsive with spending resources and there is also a greater risk of loss if we are not careful.

This Full Moon is located in a narrow square with lunar nodes, which marks the middle point between the last series of eclipses last summer and the next series of eclipses in January. The lunar nodes are karmic points in astrology and, considering that this lunation is aligned with Uranus with the ruler Venus of Taurus in retrograde movement, this full moon is very significant, which could mark a turning point or significant changes for many people.
It is possible that the energies of the previous eclipses and retrograde may also be activated during this time, which depends on how these eclipses interact with their natal astral chart.
The lunar nodes will change the signals on November 6 and 7 just before the next New Moon. They have been in the Leo-Aquarius axis since May 2017 and will enter the Cancer-Capricorn axis for the next 18 months. I will cover this further in my next article, however, this factor also means a change of energies along with the changing signs of Jupiter shortly after this, and Uranus will also return to Aries soon.
Mercury in conjunction with Jupiter in Scorpio, both Trines Chiron
Jupiter is in trine with Chiron, which is accurate on November 1 and is still played in the following week. This can be a great energy to learn, heal and acquire some kind of holistic awareness. We can learn and better understand our wounds, blocks and fears to help us overcome them or transform them into something more positive.
Mercury is moving towards this configuration and will align with Jupiter exactly on October 28 and 29. This can help us to be broader and see the big picture. Communications can be growth oriented, educational, expansive and fun. However, we can also have a scattered mind and more easily overlook the mundane details.
With this conjunction happening in Scorpio, it can also be deep, psychological and connected to looking at things that are hidden or below the surface. In some cases, this can be a great energy for transactions and financial matters depending on how you interact with your chart. Short trips or travel plans can also be carried out at this time.
Things to consider during this period
What has recently been coming to you about your relationships or how you approach your relationships, either socially or romantically? Are you experiencing a change in your values or a conflict between personal and shared values? Or maybe this is connected resources, finance and value? Have you been making progress, and if so, how should you proceed based on that? Do you feel that you need to free yourself from a restrictive situation?
These are just some examples of issues that could arise during this period; however, there may also be other variations of this energy.
