Florida woman discovers a devastating story behind a message in a bottle
Tracy Arnette recently discovered a message in a bottle in Florida.

George Gumpert Sr. told Fox News that he put the ashes of his last son, George "Big Guy" Gumpert Jr., in the ocean during a trip to Perdido Key, Florida, with his wife last week.
"It was hard to let go," said the man from Tannersville, Pennsylvania, referring to "Big Guy," who was only 27 when he committed suicide in 2010.
That was not the only thing that released. Gumpert Sr. also sent a message in a bottle.
It was only a matter of days, according to Gumpert Sr., before Tracy Arnette discovered it.
The Florida woman was walking home after a bombing expedition in Johnson Beach on Sunday in Perdido Key when she noticed something was shining in the water, Arnette told Fox News, before she landed 2 feet in front of her.

Arnette said he came home at 4:30 p.m. That day and opened the bottle, where he found the message that contained what later turned out to be Gumpert Jr.'s birth date and a quote from him.
"What do you do when you realize that the answer you've been pursuing all your life is really the next question?" Reads the quote.
"I saw the picture, I thought" I'm pretty interested ", he recalled. A search in Google of the photo and the appointment did not produce any result, reason why Arnette said that it resorted to Facebook.
In the picture is the message inside the bottle that Arnette found.

"It was absolutely a group effort," he said when trying to find the father, explaining that others were involved in the digital search process.

Arnette and Gumpert Sr. met in person on Thursday night after messages were sent.
"I cried," Arnette said of her "overwhelming" encounter.

"Anyone could have thrown [the message in a bottle] "in the trash ... but she did this due diligence and grabbed her friends and followed," he said.
"I'm proud of my son, I think he's pushing [this story] throughout, "shared Gumpert Sr., who confirmed that he hopes to spread about suicide.
As for Arnette? "It was as if her son had found me," she shared, "and he wants this story to go on."
And in a certain way, it will. A Sunday ceremony is planned and a group of people will go out in a boat and put the message in a bottle back in the water, Arnette said.
