Electionland is preparing for the midterm exams, and we are looking for experts in election management and electoral laws to be part of an expert database. We would love for you to participate. Our objective is to base the real-time coverage of the elections, in fact and in context, you could be a big part of helping us to achieve it.
Electionland 2016 was the largest collaborative journalism project of all time around a single event, with the participation of more than 1,000 journalists and technologists. We cover the voting experience on election day, from long lines to team failures and voter intimidation. We reviewed thousands of call center records, social media posts and text messages, referring real problems to local journalists who covered the problems in real time. We seek to do the same for the partial exams. We will have election management experts present in our newsroom all day, but they can not do everything or talk about all the local problems. Therefore, we are looking to build a database of expert sources who are willing to receive telephone calls from local and national journalists during early voting and on election day. You can tell us in what area your experience is located and if you have any specific knowledge of the states or counties. This will allow us to help journalists get the right person to talk about any problem that voters may face.
We want to listen to anyone interested in working with us, but we are especially interested in finding more conservatives with experience in elections to participate. Issues related to voting may have a political burden, but we do not take sides. As journalists, we believe that the only way to get the right information is to make sure we are talking to people across the spectrum.
How long will this take?

What is out of this?
Our goal is to cover the electoral problems quickly enough to be solved while the people are still voting. We saw that this was happening in 2016, and we are confident that we will see it again this time. It will become part of helping journalists to responsibly cover elections with a view to empowering voters.
