Claim of & # 039; exhaustive & # 039; The Kavanaugh FBI probe is & # 039; absurd, & # 039; says friend of Ford who was not interviewed

Christine Blasey Ford's lawyers published a statement Friday from a friend of Ford's who says he is a corroborated witness to Ford's sexual assault allegation against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, and criticized the FBI for not interviewing him.

In an affidavit before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Keith Koegler wrote that Ford told her in 2016, as they watched their children play together, that a judge in a federal court in Washington, DC, had sexually assaulted her when they were at school high school.

"There is a minimum of 7 additional people, known to the White House, the Senate Judiciary Committee and the FBI who knew the assault before the nomination and were not interviewed," Koegler wrote of the Limited FBI probe in the accusation. "I am one of them."

The revelation of Ford happened almost at the same time when the ex- student of the University of Stanford, Brock Turner, was condemned to rape an unconscious woman, he wrote.

"Christine expressed her anger at Mr. Turner's lenient sentence, stating that she was particularly upset because she was assaulted in high school by a man who was now a federal judge in Washington, DC," Koegler said.

Koegler said he had a copy of a June 29 email thread where Ford identified his alleged assailant as President Trump's "SCOTUS favorite."

He replied: "I remember you told me about him, but I do not remember his name, do you mind telling me so I can read about him?

"Brett Kavanaugh," Ford replied.

Koegler said she knows Ford and her husband for more than five years and that he coached his son's baseball team.

In the statement, Koegler also expressed frustration at the way in which Ford's allegations have been handled by lawmakers and law enforcement authorities.

"The process by which the Senate Judiciary Committee has 'investigated' the facts related to the assault has been a blatant effort to protect Judge Kavanaugh," Koegler wrote. "The fact that the FBI did not interview Christine or Judge Kavanaugh, on its own, makes the claim that the investigation was 'exhaustive' absurd."

The Democrats have hit the investigation as not complete or exhaustive

Some Republicans, and Kavanaugh himself, have branded the allegations against him as part of a smear campaign to keep him out of the bank.

Koegler denied any "big conspiracy" to carry out a "politically successful job" in Kavanaugh, adding that "this was always about a woman struggling with a perverse election."

The Senate is expected confirm Kavanaugh to the court Saturday.
