The owner of Fremont Lanes, a popular bowling alley in Colorado, died Sunday, authorities said.
The owner of a bowling alley in Colorado was killed Sunday afternoon while trying to fix a pin placement machine, Colorado Springs. FOX 21 reported.
Ector Rodríguez, 65, was the owner of the Fremont Lanes bowling center in Florence, which is about 3 hours south of Denver.
An employee said Rodriguez had disappeared for 15 to 20 minutes on Sunday afternoon, according to reports. She said she found him stuck in the pin adjustment machine and called 911.
The police responded to the call around 1:20 p.m. According to reports, the officers found Rodríguez not unconscious or breathing. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neighbors and long-time bowling clients described Rodriguez positively.
"I had a bench outside the bowling alley," said Police Chief Mike DeLaurentis. "The kids were going down from high school on Monday morning and if they did not have money for pop, he would just give them pop."
The police are treating Rodriguez's death as an accident. There is no suspicion of foul play, they said.
