The social media platform where alleged shooter Robert Bowers apparently voiced anti-Semitic comments before a lethal shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue, said he is working with the FBI and the Justice Department "without a subpoena."

Shortly after several law enforcement officers identified Bowers, 48, as the suspect in the shooting involved in the attack on the Tree of Life Synagogue, Gab.com issued a statement saying he was "alerted" to a profile. that matched his name.

"The account was verified and coincided with the name of the alleged shooter, who was mentioned in the police scanners."

Gab.com describes itself as "a social network that defends freedom of expression, individual freedom and the free flow of information online".

After 4 p.m. At the briefing on Saturday, officials said 11 people were killed and six others wounded, including four policemen, in the shooting.

Police sources said KDKA that the gunman shouted "all Jews must die" before opening fire in the synagogue. The media also reported that officials were investigating their Twitter account; there were reports that he could have written about his intentions on Saturday morning.

Gab.com said in a tweet that he was working with the FBI and the Department of Justice by sending "the data" regarding the Bowers account without a subpoena.

"We will comply absolutely with each and every one of the citations and we will not have problems to meet with the police and help in any way we can," the tweet reads.

The page of Bowers, that since then has been eliminated, had a post hours before the shot that said "screw their optics, I'm going to enter," the New York Post reported.

At a late afternoon briefing, an FBI official said the suspect was someone the police did not know.

Bob Jones, the special agent in charge of the FBI office in Pittsburgh, said investigators also believe that the suspect was acting alone, with the full reason still unclear.

The Associated Press and Fox News' Jeffrey Rubin contributed to this report.
