Bay Medical Sacred Heart, which housed 1,500 people, staff families, lifeguards and patients, from the storm on Wednesday said that although everyone is safe, the building was damaged and evacuated more than 200 patients.
Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center also announced in a statement that it is evacuating its approximately 130 patients, beginning with the most critical "due to infrastructure challenges in our community."
"Until we can be sure of public power, water and sewerage systems, our patients will be safer in neighboring hospitals," the Gulf Coast Regional statement said.
Both hospitals said they are keeping their emergency rooms open.
Bay Medical said on social media that it "suffered damage, including broken windows, cracking of an exterior wall and damage to the roof" when the hurricane Walk the coast around Panama City on Wednesday. In a press release, the hospital said it also had water damage.

Ardent Health Services staff in Nashville traveled to Panama City to deliver 1000 MRE to Bay Medical Sacred Heart on Thursday after it was hit by Hurricane Michael. Ardent Health Services is the parent company of BMSH.
"A section of the roof collapsed in the hospital's materials management building ... Hurricane Michael also caused significant problems with broken glass, refrigeration and plumbing, and loss of information systems," said Bay Medical Sacred Heart.

Bay Medical Sacred Heart has initiated the evacuation of patients due to the building conditions and the damage caused by the hurricane. The hospital said that more than 200 patients would be evacuated in the next 48 hours.
The hospital before the storm had welcomed the families and pets of the hospital staff, as well as the lifeguards.
Dr. Doug Scott, his emergency medical director, said residents of the area also went to the hospital to seek shelter during the hurricane.
"One, in fact, walked barefoot and there were broken glass everywhere," Scott told David Muir of ABC News on Thursday.
At one point, the storm knocked down the outer doors of the emergency department, Scott said. "A wind tunnel was formed through the emergency department."
"We had to block the doors with stretchers and bolts and everything to be able to close the wind tunnel that came through the hospital like a freight train," he said.
Another doctor at Bay Medical said the winds from Hurricane Michael were extraordinarily powerful.
"I survived [Hurricane] Katrina in New Orleans before coming here and the wind damage here was much worse in my experience, "cardiologist Sam Patel told Muir, adding that at the height of the storm, it sounded like a jet engine.
"The windows were coming in and the water was coming in ... Luckily, none of our patients suffered injuries due to the storm ... It was about two to three hours of hell," Patel said. "Fear ... The damage from the wind was pretty phenomenal."
"All patients, family and staff are safe and the patient's care will continue until the last patient is transferred," hospital general manager Scott Campbell said after Hurricane Michael passed. "If patients do not have a relative or other support people with them in the hospital, we communicate with their emergency contacts."
