Oregon UFOs: Strange sightings in the northwest

• Tom Bowden is the Oregon director for MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network. "I started studying this topic in 1974, 1975," Bowden said. "What we do is investigate the people who say they have seen UFOs, we are looking at their history and trying to understand that person."
• The group of volunteers has four researchers in Oregon, which is rated incredibly high in sightings. There was the famous McMinnville dish in the 1950s. Before that, something strange was seen on Mount Adams. Bowden said that this summer was very busy. "I'm not sure what was happening, but since May it's been a really hot year," Bowden said.
• Bowden's most memorable research was in August 2003. "This dark, triangular ship was floating right there a few hundred feet above the houses," Bowden said. He published brochures throughout the neighborhood and more people came forward to report seeing something like that.
• At the age of 71, Bowden believes that the government knows more than it says about UFOs. Bowden expects a breakthrough to occur while he is still alive. Until then, it will continue digging.
Most of the time, when we hear about unidentified flying objects, we think of southwest New Mexico and Roswell, but what's here in the Northwest? One expert said that Oregon has the second highest number of UFO sightings in the United States.
The most recent was seen in the skies over Pendleton.
A small point in a sea of blue, just a spot in the sky, was discovered by Virgil Bates Jr. The UFO floated over Pendleton, with its historic center and cowboy statues, for more than an hour in July 2018.
"We look up, you know, you see this white thing, it's just there," Bates said. "That caught our attention" The little speck did not go unnoticed. Many people in the city looked up and saw it. "Yes, it was very good," said Bates.

In a landscape that looks like something extraterrestrial, with an air base not far from the city, Bates said there was nothing else flying that day. Its only explanation is that it was an unidentified flying object.
"I think there are other things out there," said Bates. "We can not be the only people that exist, or whatever you want to call us."
Tom Bowden is a UFO expert. He is the director of Oregon for what is known as MUFON, the Mutual UFO Network, which is dedicated to studying UFO sightings and those who report them.
