Right Pride Flag: Freedom of expression or freedom from oppression?

  • The facts:

It is not uncommon to hear the term "plants also have feelings". Multiple studies point clearly to the idea that consciousness can be present. That said, this should not be used in any way to justify the continuation of mass genocide of animals.

  • Reflect on:

Have we been conditioned to eat meat? What right have we to take another life as we do today, in massive numbers and through extreme tortures?

First, I would like to start by emphasizing that billions of animals are raised every year for slaughter, and that is only in the United States. It is a horrible industry, full of tortures, where animals are kept in heartbreaking conditions, stripped of their children, tortured and made to live with fear for the totality of their short and miserable lives. This is not a way to treat another being that shares this Earth with us, and we have no right to "cultivate" them so that we feed, especially at a time when there are other options. Our actions with regard to eating animals are playing an important role in the destruction of the Earth.

What makes us think that we are above them, or better than them, or that we have the right to do what we do to them?

Secondly, I would like to point out that although morality, ethics and empathy have priority as a reason for not eating animals, so does health and the fact that it simply does not seem normal or natural. Take milk, for example, we are the only animal on the planet that drinks the milk of another animal and the only species that continues to drink milk after weaning. Science now confirms the benefits of a plant-based diet and its ability to reverse, cure and prevent multiple diseases.

Protein of plant origin Many think that it is also a much better option than meat protein, at least that is what science is showing. Not to mention the antibiotics that are pumped into these poor animals, as well as the food for transgenic animals that is tied with pesticides that are destroying the entrails of these animals. It is a dirty and unethical issue, which has shown how far we have moved away from morality and the spiritual foundations that previously allowed others and ourselves to live in harmony.

The arguments for eating animals tend to vary, the most common seems to be that this is the diet of those who roamed the Earth before us. I published an article about that belief that you can read. here. It is not known that many of these groups were vegetarians. There is so much information that points to the idea that we are more suitable and adapted to eat a diet based on plants. The idea that meat is necessary is simply not true, it reminds me of the smart marketing used by the big pharmaceutical and food companies. We are just learning now that our food guides have been a recipe for disease. Maybe eating meat is the same? Some who see huge amounts of profits for a selected few. Have they made us believe that we "need" to eat meat and that it is "natural"?

When you look at how our digestive systems are built, we have the anatomy and physiology of a strict plant-eater or herbivore. We do not have any adaptation in our digestive system or in our physiology that is adapted to eat or consume animal flesh. And that's why we can not consume animal flesh without the help of technology. But when you look at the structure of the jaw, the mechanics of the jaw, our esophagus, our stomach and the length of our intestines, it is clear that we have the anatomy of a committed herbivore.
- Dr. Milton Mills

The world is undoubtedly changing, the planet's consciousness is changing and can be seen in multiple areas that completely surround all aspects of human life. Health is clearly one of them, vegan and vegetarian options are booming and more doctors, like thisThey are using food to help reverse the disease instead of prescribing prescription drugs, something that kills 100,000 people each year.

Many athletes are also becoming vegan and create a lot of awareness about the protein / muscle myth.

I understand that veganism is a general term that celebrates the daily practice of compassion, sustainability, health and global / personal examination. It is a point of reference for living a life that closely resembles these values. It is never about perfection or details, but about incremental and exponential ripples of personal change for humanity.

The rewards of living consciously and collectively are not exclusive to any particular person and their dietary lifestyle. We everyone It plays an integral role in creating positive changes on this planet, and everyone has different parts of the cake where our gifts and strengths are located.
- Jill stella

A deeper look at veganism

If you had to experience the pain and fear that an animal goes through during transport, being pushed to the slaughterhouse and the gas chamber or the sacrifice itself, you would not eat them. It is only because you are ignorant of reality, and your reality, that you do it.
- Erin Janus

There are many vegan activists out there who can make you feel guilty about eating meat, vegan activism can also create separation, fear and division, usually what labels do. If you are a vegan activist, it is important to be aware of the way you develop your activism, so that you can reach more people. You should never make someone feel guilty, or guilty, or as if he were a bad human being who lacks compassion and empathy. I have not eaten meat for about 10 years, and although I identify myself as vegan today, I can tell you that 10-15 years ago, my love for animals was the same as now.

That said, it is difficult to see mass genocide on a daily basis and try to develop your activism with peace and understanding, but it is of the utmost importance.

On the one hand, many vegan activists are asking people to have empathy for the animals and what they are suffering. At the same time, they do not feel empathy for people who may not be aware of the damage we are causing to animals, and the long journey may be to change our habits. We often forget that once we were not in the "know ..."
- Joe Martino

If you have been a reader of Collective Evolution for a long time, you will know that our unique style of conscious media It incorporates neutrality and empathy in what we inform and discuss. Why? Let's explore with questions: where does it take us, to always be fighting over problems? Where does it lead us to attack other people about where they are in their life and what are they doing? Can not we approach these situations with love? In fact, is it not clear that we HAVE to approach these situations with love if we want to see things change?

Plants have feelings ...

As I am a vegan activist, there is no shortage of lack of understanding and reaction on the part of the community that eats meat. Some people say that plants also have feelings and emotions, just like animals, but vegans ignore them ...

The truth is that, I agree, I am completely convinced through my research on the subject that plants do have thoughts, feelings and emotions, but ultimately, it feels very different to eat them. It's just not the same, and I do not think I have to explain why ... When you look in the eyes of an animal, it's different. That said, maybe not, and we just perceive it as different?

Grover Cleveland Backster Jr., was an interrogation specialist at the Central Intelligence Agency, who became famous for his experiments with plants that use a lie detector machine. Through his research, he believed that plants feel pain and have an extrasensory perception (ESP). His work became quite popular, only to be rejected by the scientific community in the same way that parapsychology is today, despite the statistically significant results that rival those of the hard sciences. The experiments of human intention have taken place for decades. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of peer-reviewed publications that have examined the mind-matter connection with some very interesting results. Your work in this was published at International Journal of Parapsychology.

A fairly recent example comes from A study conducted by scientists from the National Normal University of Kaohsiung, the National Taiwan University and the Institute of Noetic Sciences. They make reference to a previous experiment that suggested that "the consumption of tea intentionally influenced the subjective mood in controlled double-blind conditions". Vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, and the differences measured in the length of hypocotyl, anthocyanin and chlorophyll between hydrated seeds with intentionally treated water and untreated water. You can read more about that here.

A study published in the AAmerican Journal of Chinese Medicine demonstrated that a woman with special abilities was able to significantly accelerate the germination of specific seeds with the purpose of developing a more robust stock of seeds. You can read more about that and access the study. here.

According to Michael Pollan, author of the dilemma of the omnivore and the botany of desire:

They (the plants) have ways of taking all the sensory data they collect in their daily lives, integrating them and then behaving appropriately in response. And they do it without a brain, which, in a way, is what is incredible, because we automatically assume that a brain is needed to process information.

It's interesting because for consciousness to thrive and exist, according to my research, you do not need a brain or any kind of biology for that matter. I believe that all life forms have consciousness, regardless of their biological composition.

Here it is a TED talk about how trees communicate with each other.

How do I deal with this realization

I have a spiritual perspective because, to be honest, I do not want to hurt anything that I perceive as alive, sensitive, experiential or experiential. Ultimately, at certain levels of existence, I believe that no type of food from "food" sources is really necessary. I'm not the only one, there are real examples of this and academics like Nikola Tesla who believed the same. You can read more about that here.

To deal with this enigma in which I found myself, I was referring to indigenous spiritual wisdom, something that has always resonated deeply with me and, at the same time, corroborated a large part of my research. Rita Laws, Ph.D., explains the great amount of respect that these communities had towards the animals, explaining how their own people, the Choctaw Indians of Mississippi and Oklahoma, the vegetables were the traditional diet, and all the houses were constructed of wood, mud, bark, and cane, no skins. She explains how they, among many other tribes, had a predominantly vegetarian diet before European colonization.

Perhaps one of the most interesting revelations shared by his experience and research is the fact that "More than one tribe has creation legends that describe people as vegetarians, who live in a kind of Garden of Eden. A Cherokee legend describes humans, plants and animals as having lived at first in "equality and mutual aid".

She describes how the world changed and continues to explain how "Everyone's needs were met without killing each other. When the man became aggressive and ate some of the animals, the animals invented diseases to keep the human population under control. However, the plants remained friendly and were offered not only as food for man but also as medicine, to combat new diseases. "

She spoke of a kind of soul contract that exists today, where some animals provide themselves and sacrifice for humanity to teach us a lesson ...

"In the past, and in more than a few tribes, eating meat was a rare activity, certainly not a daily event. Since the European customs of meat consumption, the introduction of the horse and the weapon, and the proliferation of alcoholic beverages and white merchants have been introduced, many things have changed ".

You can see the full conference and read more about it. here, that's where the quotes come from.

Nowadays, the animals are raised and killed for sacrifice, they are not thanked for their sacrifice, they do not take the oldest of the herd and, obviously, they do not volunteer.

When it comes to animals, it is not different from torturing, killing and depriving a human of his family and loved ones. This is what we are doing today, and in no way does this represent what it means to be a human being, but it shows a total lack of empathy, love and morality. Plants, for now, have the perspective that they are offering themselves, fairly advanced souls that are playing a role for humanity.

There is a giant holocaust happening on the planet.

I want to stay away from 'right' or 'wrong' here, and simply convey that at the deepest, spiritual and metaphysical levels of existence, everything is working, all those who suffer (animals) are benefiting humanity in this moment, they are opening our eyes to what we no longer want to experience.

Currently, as a vegan, I can definitely say that with the awareness that plants are also sentient beings, there is a MUCH different feeling when eating compared to animals. It does not feel heavy, the environment does not seem unhealthy, but rather nutritious. There is a very different energy, and a much greater impact on the planet when you eat animals.

To take away

The idea that plants also have feelings and emotions, in no way justifies eating meat. This does not mean that eating meat is wrong, and labeling it as incorrect is perhaps the wrong approach when it comes to promoting a change in the human lifestyle that serves the individual as well as the collective. Our job is to get out of our current experience on Earth, observe it from a neutral point of view and feel what resonates intuitively with our hearts. We have been subject to so much programming that most of the time, our thoughts, feelings and actions are influenced by external entities. To really know how we feel, we must eliminate concepts of the mind as 'right' and 'wrong'. That said, they are simple, most of the time, great descriptions on how to describe what resonates in our heart, and what does not

You are not a bad person, or a terrible human being if you eat meat, so do not let anyone make you feel that way. At the same time, if you eat meat, can you understand the perspective of the vegan activist? There is a reason why our planet is changing towards a more plant-based lifestyle and maybe it is because this is what is natural, and that what great foods have taught us is not ...
