Megyn Kelly and NBC News start exit negotiations
Megyn Kelly and NBC News began the exit negotiations, which indicates that the brief stay of the star presenter in the network is probably coming to an end, said people familiar with the matter.
Mrs. Kelly, host of the one-hour "Megyn Kelly Today" program, which airs weekdays at 9 a.m., arrived under fire for comments this week, they were seen inside and outside the network as racially insensitive.

Tensions between Ms. Kelly and NBC News increased further on Wednesday when NBC News President Andrew Lack criticized Ms. Kelly in front of a "town hall" staff meeting. Mr. Lack told employees that his comments have "no place in our air or in this workplace for them," according to one person at the meeting. He added that the network "will order this with Megyn."
The relationship between Ms. Kelly and NBC News brass has been difficult for some time. NBC News, a unit of Comcast Corp., managed to get Ms. Kelly out of Fox News with a three-year, $ 69 million contract in 2017. So far, the results have been disappointing. The morning show, which made its debut in September 2017, has a smaller audience than the previous occupant of the period and is much more expensive.
A Sunday magazine show with Ms. Kelly was also canceled quickly last year.
Ms. Kelly has also made no effort to cover stories about the talent of NBC News that have been caught in the #MeToo movement, including former "Today" presenter Matt Lauer and Tom Brokaw.
In addition, Ms. Kelly said in her show that NBC should hire an outside attorney to investigate why Mr. Lack and other senior NBC officials he passed a story of the then collaborator Ronan Farrow on the allegations of sexual harassment by the film producer Harvey Weinstein. A senior NBC News official questioned the idea that NBC News was retaliating against Ms. Kelly for her coverage of #MeToo.
In one of the most bizarre developments of this drama, Ms. Kelly's attorney, Bryan Freedman, has even indicated that she would like Mr. Farrow to attend a meeting with him and the NBC News executives on Friday, who have discovered the fate of Mrs. Kelly, a person familiar with the situation said.
Mr. Freedman did not respond to a request for comment. The New York Post reported for the first time on their interest in Mr. Farrow participating in a meeting. No real invitation has been offered to Mr. Farrow, said someone with knowledge of the matter.
