Mahomes torches the Bengals for 4 TDs as Headshot, 45-10

One of the few things that Patrick Mahomes had not done in his young career was recovering from a defeat.

He made the look as easy as Mahomes does everything else.

The Chiefs' young quarterback threw for 358 yards and four touchdowns on Sunday night, Kareem Hunt finished with three touchdowns and Kansas City recovered from a New England loss at New England by stopping the Cincinnati Bengals 45-10 .

Mahomes had 28 of the 39 with his one big mistake, an unsuccessful interception, although the Chiefs (6-1) were already well ahead of Cincinnati (4-3) at the time it did not really matter.

He spread wealth, too, connecting with eight goals. Tyreek Hill had seven receptions for 68 yards and a touchdown, and Demetrius Harris caught on the other TD catch.

Andy Dalton of the Bengals remained just 148 yards past a touchdown and an interception of the NFL's worst defense. Joe Mixon managed only 50 yards running.

The Chiefs, who wore their red uniforms for the primetime showdown, flexed some defensive muscle to open the game, creating a triple for their first forced clearance on 17 possessions.

Mahomes and Hunt went to work immediately.

With their quarterback destroying the exhausted backfield of the Bengals, and Hunt making the rest of the defense look downright silly, the Chiefs marched 95 yards to score. Hunt crowned him with a small TD touchdown, but it was his move immediately before the social networks went on.

Hunt was released from a handful of Bengalis, and then threw Jessie Bates in a 21-yard run.

Mahomes connected with Hunt again early in the second quarter, when the Pro Bowl that ran back left Bengals linebacker Vontaze Burfict in the air on his way to the end zone. And he responded to a TD pitch by Dalton with one to Harris when the Chiefs took a 24-7 lead at halftime.

Run the ball and protect the lead? Nah

Mahomes opened the second half by hitting Sammy Watkins for 50 yards. And six plays later, Hunt hit him from a couple of yards for his third touchdown and first on the floor.

Ron Parker's pick-6 on the next play gave Kansas City two touchdowns in 9 seconds, and Mahomes connected with Hill, just after the speed fell on a touchdown, to reach 45-10 in the fourth.

At that time, it was hard to say what was more entertaining, the Boss offense or their crazy touchdown celebrations, because the reality is that there were many of the two things.

Harris celebrated his score by jumping into a good camera and using it as a fox hole while throwing it like a grenade. Hill fainted at the feet of an officer and received the cardiopulmonary resuscitation of offensive lineman Eric Fisher after his score, and then jumped back before running to the sideline.

The Bengals certainly were not enjoying it. They were attacked by a couple of personal fouls in the stretch, including one last hit from helmet to helmet on Hunt by safety Shawn Williams.
