The husband of Republican Sen. Susan Collins says a threatening letter claiming to contain a deadly ricin specifically mentioned her vote to nominate the Supreme Court. Brett Kavanaugh.

Thomas Daffron told WABI-TV on Tuesday that the writer claimed that the letter was stained with ricin residues. He and Collins were allowed to stay at home after preliminary tests indicated that there was no public threat.

Collins and his staff have been threatened because of their decision to endorse Kavanaugh by the Supreme Court.

Collins tells WABI that he will not live his life differently and that he will not feel intimidated or live in fear.

She says she found out about the letter in photos sent by her husband. Her husband and her labrador dog, Pepper, were quarantined for a while.
